![]() The Macbook Air. Yet another innovative product from Apple... blah blah blah. It's a thin, lightweight and sturdy laptop. Not to mention, it looks amazing. All that and it still fails. Find out why... |

NICE!
ok, now the price....
1.6GHz Version: $1,799 USD
1.8GHz Version: $2,598 USD
OMGWTFBBQSADFACE!
There is no way any normal person should even consider paying $1,800 for this laptop. I don't care if it fits in a manila envelope or if it is super-duper-ultra-fantastically-portable.
Not only is the first version overpriced but look at the second one. Apparently, an increase of 0.2GHz and 16gb less harddrive space justifies raising the price by $800? Don't tell me, "Oh, but the 64gb solid-state drive is so much faster and reliable" Whoop-di-doo! I've never had a laptop harddrive fail on me. Wanna know why? Because I don't buy cheap laptops from garbage manufacturers.

We are going to put this piece of shit into perspective right now. The Macbook Air lacks $1,800 worth of laptop power. Maybe, just maybe, it is because it's too goddamn thin. Steve Jobs is so focused on the big picture and sucking off everyone in his audiences that Apple products are lacking necessary features. If you think I am going to give Apple a pat on the back because you believe they are being pioneers and standing up above all the other players in this industry - you are so wrong. Just check out the groundbreaking technology:
Groundbreaking Technology
- The battery is not user-removable. That means you can't take out the battery yourself when it fails or when you want extra life from a backup battery. Instead you have to find authorized service to get the battery replaced when it inevitably dies.
- On top of not being able to remove the battery, you also can't upgrade the RAM. Yep, you're stuck with the default 2gb.
- The optical drive is nowhere to be found. This means you can't run software from CD's and you certainly can't watch DVD movies. There is the option to purchase an $100 external SuperDrive however this is also stupid. It defeats the portability aspect and raises the price of this already overpriced junktop.
- There's no built-in Ethernet port. You can't use a wired network unless you purchase the $30 USB-to-Ethernet adapter.
- What's more is this laptop only has one USB port. That's right - ONE. If you want to use an external mouse and the optical drive well then your shit out of luck, buy an external port hub.
- No audio input other than the integrated mic.
- No firewire.
The average user is so blinded by Apple's advertising team that they believe this product is the be-all and end-all of small portable laptops. Well I've got news for you. Not only is this laptop not the thinnest in the world, it also has some competition. I am going to give you not one, but three laptops that are better than the Macbook Air. The Sony Vaio Z, Voodoo Envy 133 and the Lenovo X300 - BAM! Bitches.
Admit it, this one's for:
(a) hardcore apple fanboys
(b) rich motherfuckers

If you don't belong to (a) or (b) you probably don't own one nor should you consider buying one.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's Light! Portable! Shiny! and its a fail.
